Help & Info =>Volumetric Weight Calculations
Sometimes, Large items with a light overall weight can be charged according to the space they take up on a van, lorry or aircraft. In these cases, volumetric weight or dimensional (dim) weight is used to calculate the shipment cost.
The price quoted to you is based on a comparison of real weight versus volumetric weight so the price you are quoted is the price you will pay. If the volumetric weight of your parcel is greater than the true weight, a small additional premium will be included in the price.
If you would like to calculate the volumetric weight of your parcel, the following formula is the one we use:
(Length x Width x Height - in centimetres) / 6000 = Volumetric weight in kilograms.
IF YOUR PARCEL EXCEEDS 40kg BY VOLUMETRIC WEIGHT, PLEASE CALL US ON 08000 255 955 FOR A QUOTE.
